Jamie is a very nice girl. She takes nice pictures. Paint nice art. Mixed all… and her work is very inspiring. Her blog is so good and it’s a daily check from people all around the world. She will prepare some nice pieces for the art show here, and here’s little from her…
What's you name and where are you from?
Jamie E. Watson, I live in Northern California.
When did you find out that you would be an artist?
When I was in college, I studied interior design. Toward the end of college I discovered printmaking and that was when I knew I had found my perfect medium.
What do you want to show to people when you do you art?
I want to show people joy and beauty, cool things, maybe something they haven't thought about in awhile and inspiration.
What's surf for you?
Surf for me holds the secrets of life and inspires me deeply in many ways. In my mind, it is the greatest pastime known to mankind.
Can you tell us some highlights in your career?
A lot of firsts: My first printing press & my first studio in Sausalito; Friendships with other artists, some through my blog; A recent commission for my favorite sushi restaurant; my first repeat client; and... My first surf art show - a dream come true.
What comes to your mind when you hear the word Brasil?
Heat; passion; color; Carnaval; João Gilberto; Céu...I have much more to learn!
How do you feel to be part of an art show over here in Santos city?
Completely honored and pinching myself. Thank you, Jair.
Some words to the people that will see your work in Brasil...
I would like to thank the Brasilian people for supporting this amazing event. I hope that it brings you joy and makes you feel full of possibility for the future.
